Who Am I to Write a Blog?

In my seventh decade on this planet I find myself driving a truck. Winchester, UCL, Cavalry Officer, Business, CEO, truck driver wasn’t the plan, but it’s how things turned out. I tell myself my life’s been a lot more interesting that it would have been had I simply done PPE and got myself a job with Goldman Sachs. Some days I almost believe it!

I certainly have done a fair amount of interesting stuff, from being a British Army officer to founding, running and saving companies. These experiences (plus a lot of reading and thinking) have given me some wisdom, along with some scars. That is what underpins what I think and what I write.

I’m primarily interested in economics, business, politics and I can’t let the military go. Agriculture is also intriguing - I used to live on a beef farm and from my cab I see the farming year from the south coast to Derbyshire.

I hope that you find my writing informative, interesting, challenging and entertaining. I try to ensure that if I quote a fact it’s correct and include links where possible.

If you do enjoy my writing you can sign up to get full access and to have new articles sent to you automatically and to enjoy full access to the archive. The Views from My Cab blog is currently FREE - clicking the subscribe button does not cost you anything.

It won’t be free for ever; producing quality work takes time (more than I anticipated). In the interim please share articles with any of your friends who might like it.

I'm an HGV1 driver. I've been a British Army cavalry officer, a financier, an author, a parliamentary candidate& a CEO I didn't plan to be a trucker, but I'm making the most of it. The cab is a good place to think.
