Accurate in every aspect but one, and it is the critical condition of every aspect of the State coupled with one looming fact- the current legal deadline for the next general election is August 15, 2029, which is about 1100 days or about 400 Parliament sitting days.

Burnham intends to restructure the whole system, therefore the measure of success will be in his first 100 days where Tax, Welfare, Defence will dominate each and every hour of his day, no wonder his elected colleagues forgot to stand.

Comments from Burnham and his colleagues we can expect as and when the PLP decides that the Messiah has failed.

“I didn’t merely fail from a losing position; I confirmed the loss with administrative precision.”

A few even drier variants, each parched enough to qualify as a desert:

• The procedural‑collapse — “My defeat was not unexpected; merely formally ratified.”

• The bureaucratic‑fizzle — “I was already behind; I simply ensured the situation remained consistent.”

• The minimalist‑disaster — “I failed from a losing position. Continuity matters.”

My personal favourites that I expect to see in print-

“Failure from a losing position is a special talent — it’s like managing to fall off the floor.”

• The heroic‑collapse — “I didn’t just lose; I pioneered new ways of being behind.”

• The optimistic‑disaster — “I was so far down that when I hit rock bottom, I had to look up to see defeat.”

• The strategic‑nonsense — “I didn’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory; I politely asked defeat to deliver itself.”

All in all, Labour will maintain its slash and burn tactics to ensure that equally in poverty is delivered.

An absolutely brilliant piece - why is it that most of our current politicians lack any common sense understanding of anything? As Blair said "education, education, education" - therin lies a massive problem.... most of the graduates I have come across (working as an apprentice since I was 16, then in the Met Police and then as an indepedent consultant to over 35 blue chip national and international companies), lack any capability to practically do anything positive! All theory, do as I say, with no clue as to how, what, when, who and why anything needs improving!!
